Brief

La Montée is a new outdoor adventure company and sports gear retailer with big plans. Created by a small group of entrepreneurs, with a wealth of mountaineering and outdoor background, the client wanted the brand to become the go-to place for a specialised and discerning audience of enthusiasts, offering expert advice, articles, comparisons, reviews, analysis to complement the shopping experience.

Challenge

Starting with an initial logo design, the company wanted to develop its online brand identity further and design their e-commerce platform. They wanted to strategically use the same back-end functionality to launch two separate and parallel branded stores, one for mountaineering and one for cycling, wishing to keep the store experience consistent and aligned to feel like one.

Solution

An initial gateway splash screen was created as a way to access the two stores. The branding, using strong and compelling imagery and colours, was kept consistent with only a few variations of the colour palette, to identify the two separate shopping experiences. We ultimately designed a unique set of transactional screens covering the red path to the checkout, while additional supportive content and tools were kept on the surface on the landing pages.
